PS3MG Rules

LESS THAN 8 SIMPLE RULES

This is a SIM community - and all SIM organization have a code of rules which are important to the membership...

- Rules are the same across all LGs  (if you play in multiple LGs, you only have to learn 1 set of rules!!!)

- The last post in the thread is the most current rules - Rules evolve and our rules are updated periodically to reflect changes in the game....

- if a player breaks a rule - save the replay on the post game RECAP section - upload it to your EA profile and inform the commish of the infraction the player made...

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch. On this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the f------ difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! Ranking Calculation

- Based on ELOs famous ranking system for 2 player games (original used in chess)...

- Considers the quality of opponent when determining the effect of a win/loss on your ranking... (A win vs highly rated opponent will move you up more than beating a lower rated oppopnent - Conversely, a loss to a higher rated opponent will move you down less than losing to a lower rated opponent...

- Score differential is not part of the ranking criteria - this illiminates motivation to needlessly run the score up on weaker opponents...

- Swings in ratings are more extreme when you have less games in calculation - As you accumulate more games, individual wins & losses will have less dramatic effect on your ranking

ELO Math (if u care...)

IMPROVE YOUR RANKING!

- fastest way to move up the rankings is to BEAT the players ahead of you in the standings... You may not be in the same league as all these players so challenge the player to an exhibition game!

- be sure to inform your opponent that the outcome of the exhibition gm will be reported to GREENERRRR for the purpose of adding a game to ELO rankings...

- If you play in a LG outside of the PS3MG with members in our  ELO ranking - these games can be included AS LONG AS BOTH PLAYERS AGREE TO THIS BEFORE U PLAY!

How to Determine when Opponents are FATIGUED

This article was submitted by PS3MG member cassiusrocknroll

D-Linemen
All def linemen come out in a 3 point stance, so after a while of being on the field or being RAN on for a while your Def starts to fatigued and wear down. SO I NOTICED that when a D-Lineman is TIRED, he will start off in a 3 point stance but the got to a 4 point stance and rest his head down and then will go back yo the 3 point stance and repeat the process till you hike the ball.

So obviously the key to knowing this on the OFFENSIVE side, is that you know which side it'll be easier to run to. And on the DEFENSIVE side to avoid this rotate your d-line. GOOD BACK UPS ARE KEY.

QB/WR/QB/O-Line
You know when a WR or HB is tired because he will be slouched over with head down and breathing heavy (key for Def to know that you can press WR easier and possibly injure the HB or force a Fumble if he gets the ball). Also the same goes for the QB and Oline. You will notice the Qb will be breathing heavy (his head will be moving up and down. This means than you can injure him if he get hit and that his THP goes down. For the O-line you will notices them hunched over as well and breathing heavy, and this means that your D-line will be more effective.

P.S.- 'I have not looked at DB's and LBS. But i can assume that they would display the same signs. And you know what we do to TIRED CB's...lol"
